When combined with a boar hair brush, this soap whips up into a dense, foamy, creamy lather that is perfect for shaving.

Bay Rum is a traditional scent that began on ships carrying trade to and from  the West Indies back in old timey days. Sailors would use bay leaves to keep them from smelling like a sewer, and it worked well. Bay Rum was born out of those trade routes, and is still used to this day in men's soaps and deodorants.  When combined with a shaving brush, you'll get a dense, creamy, foamy lather that is perfect for shaving off whatever is making you itchy. This is traditionally a men's fragrance, but I find it to be an herbal scent that I enjoy as well.

Care information

We recommend that you use a draining soap dish with any handmade soap. Because  a draining soap dish will give your bar of soap the opportunity to dry out between uses. This way you bar of soap will last much longer. Have you ever noticed that the bar of soap sitting in the puddle of water in your shower has become soft and mushy? When you're soap is sitting in water, it is slowly dissolving.
